SU-O1. (Pictures: Kris Mincev & Gary Sandelier) Was a fresh and windy night in Balharbour, the night Saks Fifth Avenue organized the traditional “Destination Fashion” by “Buoniconti Foundation to Cure Paralysis.”
30 celebrities names were contained in the press facebook, though the red carpet was burning when the best sports players and their wives walked alongside Hollywood actors on a fine parade of generous hearts.
People who weren’t listed, such as Chris and Pat Ryle, president of
the Miami Heat, and others like Alonzo Mouring avoided the red
carpet to pass behind the photographers running as if in a training session.
I guess their financial contribution was to immense for refusing to be photographed on the red carpet, as did other successful sports legends and athletes including major film actor Tommy Lee Jones and senior television
Talent Tom Brokaw or Leslie Visser.
They were among others who exposed the means to
support the cause and attract more people to participate in the most generous night of the year.
The Contribution was $ 1000.oo
input, as a donation for the cure of paralysis and the opportunity to socialize with the high society of philanthropists like Sr.Tibor & Sheila Hollo, Dr. Sanfod and
Beatrice Ziff, among dozens of successful couples.
Several Hispanic sport players and human treasures such as:Tony Perez Former MLB player of the Cincinnati Reds, Venezuelan baseball
player Miguel Cabrera, the young gymnast Danell Leyva, Indy race car driver and Brazilian sensation “Dancing with the Stars competitor” Helio Castroneves, and the Argentinian model “professional
polo player” Nacho Figueras, put the Latin flavor along with the expected mini concert of 7 songs at 10 pm by Spaniard Singer Enrique Iglesias.
There was no better event organized in the Capital of the Americas during 2012, by two superwomen, Susie and Stephanie Sayfie, with their great ladies team, they managed to put a luxurious combo to stimulate the generosity of donors; a dinner to mingle with real celebrities, magnates and successful business men.
This was an exclusive midnight sale, in the most elite International Florida Mall in South Florida, “Balharbour Shops” comprised with the most exclusive brands in the world.
If that was not enough, there was a huge display of delicious desserts throughout and open bar on every aisle to the delight of the guests, who celebrated in the most generous mood after the award to “Women of substance and style of 2012 ” a recognition established by this noble foundation.
This donation has a Destination to build the first building designed strictly to provide the most advanced treatment with the best technology for problems and diseases of the spine, with suites specially profiled for people with spinal injuries, surgical rooms for the best doctors, intensive care units and rehabilitation center for the cure of paralysis.
When people recovered from the gasping surprise of
the generous gift that Miss Lynn gave, the audience spontaneously followed, and chain founder of Outback Steakhouse Tim Gannon and Miami philanthropists Swanee and Paul DiMare donated $ 1 million Dollars each.
Thereafter, the participants did their part and donations poured in to complete $ 31 million, breaking the record for fundraising in one night.
Nothing was spared during
on the long catwalk over 20 different choices of beautiful designs to choose from the Spring Summer 2013 season by Emilio Pucci at Saks Fifth Avenue stores.
Artistic director Peter Dundas of “Emilio Pucci “, spoke exclusively about the elegance and simplicity as the trend was impeccably clean and sophisticated for spring summer 2013.
The magical night was hosted by the super power couple
in Nautical world, Micky and Madeleine Arison, who in addition to their generous contribution, were instrumental in raising awareness and offering guests the opportunity to participate in the effort to achieve a cure of paralysis.
The founders were without a doubt the happiest and
most appreciative of this noble journey. Dr. Barth Green, Nick and Terri Buoniconti, who have been working tirelessly from their trenches to achieve a cure for paralysis and restore independence to his beloved son Marc Buoniconti, who is quadriplegic after suffering an injury playing a football game.
The list of male personalities was substantial, and a delight to honor those women of “Substance and content”, as some of them were escorted on stage :Steve Alaimo, Moises Alou, Bahnsen Stanley, Rick Barry, Bob Beamon, Woody Bennett, Bruce Bowen, Miguel Cabrera, Helio Castronoves, Jeff Conine, Channing Crowder, Christopher Cuomo, Gil de Ferran, Colin Egglesfield, Todd English, Scott Erickson, Mike Eruzione, Emilio Estefan, Rod Gilbert, Tim Hardaway, Randall Hill, Marvin Jones , James Lafferty, Brad Leland, Danell Leyva, Rex Linn, Joe Manganiello, Mercury Morris, Alonzo Mourning, Tony Nathan, Wayne Newton, John Offerdahl, Luis Oliver, Tony Perez, Mike Piazza, Errict Rhett, Brett Romberg, Mark Rypien, Matthew Settle, Dwight Stephenson, Tico Torres, Aiden Turner, EJ Viso, Jed Weaverand successful executives like Royal Caribbean Cruise Line CEO Adam Goldstein, along with other notable entrepreneurs.Certainly “Destination Fashion” was the event of 2012, and the result of donations is reflected on the achievements in research of the “Miami Project”, such as the latest discovery in the vibration of the body as an effective solution to reduce leg muscles spasms in some people with spinal cord damage.
As the scientific work is in progress, at the same pace as the BOUNTICONTI FUND, they keep the work ongoing for the next event that is just around the corner. The Forth “Coral Gables Block Party”, is another event that is expected the generous participation of his assistants and as always there will be celebrities like local newscaster Adam Kuperstein NBC. At this pace, The Buoniconti Foundation will continue breaking records working hard on fundraising, with tangible results to achieve the cure of paralysis in 2013. Rosana Sandoval-Gallardo
